District Awami League (AL) Education and Human Resources Secretary and and mayoral candidate of Mirkadim Municipality Mansur Ahmed Kalam has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Munshiganj for rejection of nomination paper of his rival candidate Shahidul Islam Shahin on Monday afternoon.
In his appeal, Kalam said that his rival Shahin hid some information, for which his mayoral candidature could be rejected.
He said, “In the nomination paper at paragraph 3, column 6, Shahin mentioned he has business and service. But, he did not show his government remuneration for mayor as income in the year 2014/2015. Shahin showed his income as Tk15,7,848 from wages and Tk2,50,000 from business. But he did not show his taxes paid against his remuneration”.
In this way Shahin hid some information, Mansur Ahmed Kalam alleged.
Meanwhile, Shadul Islam Shahin was involved with BNP politics. Then he joined LDP. But, recently he joined AL on August 13, 2015 and bagged nomination from AL.
