Internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi filmmaker Kamar Ahmad Simon’s
latest film ‘Anyadin…’ (Day after…) has won the Harrell Awards for the ‘Best Picture’ at the 18th edition of Camden International Film Festival (CIFF), one of the leading film
festivals in North America.
Kamar’s ‘Anyadin’ were competing with eight other films for the
award, said a press release.
The event took place throughout venues in Camden, Rockport, and Rockland, Maine from September 15 to 18. The event will continue till September 25 online. Apart from that, the film will compete for the ‘Golden Eye’ award at the prestigious Zurich Film Festival, which will take place between September 22 and October 2. The film is the second part of the Water Trilogy by Kamar after
the globally acclaimed
‘Are You Listening!’
‘Anyadin…’ had its world premiere on November 20, 2021 at the Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam, Netherlands after being nominated
at the International Competition
of IDFA that year.
‘Anyadin…’ was also premiered as the very first Bangla film at the First Look Festival in the Museum of Moving Image (MOMI), New York in March this year. The project was invited to La Atelier in Cannes 2017 as one of the 15 promising scripts.
