A responsible knock by Shaiman Anwar steered UAE to a decent total of 129 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs against Pakistan in the Asia Cup T20 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur tonight.Opted to bat first after winning the toss, UAE faced early batting jolt when Pakistani pacer Mohammad Sami removed both the UAE openers in the 5 runs of the score board. First down Mohammad Shahzad and middle order batsman Usman Mushtaq also lasted a little, leaving UAE in deep trouble. However, Anawar offered some resistance with a responsible knock of 46 runs laced with five boundaries and two sixes before he was caught by Sarfraz off Irfan delivery.Later skipper Amjad Javed (27 n.o) and Mohammad Usman (21) crossed the 100 runs landmark and eventually took the team’s total near 130.
