Anwar elected chairman of IBBL

Business Desk :Engr Mustafa Anwar has been elected chairman, Yousif Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Engr Md Eskander Ali Khan and Prof NRM Borhan Uddin vice chairmen of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited. The election was held at the bank’s Board of Directors’ meeting on Saturday, says a press release. Local and foreign directors including Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the bank were present in the meeting.Engr Mustafa Anwar, one of the sponsors of the bank, is the Chairman & Managing Director of Birds Group. He was also the Chairman & Advisor of several standing committees of BGMEA. Mustafa Anwar completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 1964 and started his career as an engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB). Yousif Abdullah Al-Rajhi is the General Manager-cum CEO of Al-Rajhi Company for Industry and Trade, KSA. He completed his graduation in Business Administration major in Economics & Political Science from King Saud University, KSA in 1986 and also obtained MA degree in Development Administration from Western Michigan University, USA in 1991.Prof NRM Borhan Uddin, Vice Chancellor of City University secured Ph.D in Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA. Earlier, he taught and worked at several reputed universities including Livingstone College, USA at different ranks and positions. He is the Chairman of Audit Committee of the bank.
