Anushka film caught in stop-work saga

Cholchhe na, cholbe na! – neither films, nor filmmaking in Tollywood. The indefinite strike called by the film workers’ union in Mumbai on August 15 has had far-reaching consequences in Kolkata, with the shooting of two outstation projects getting stalled within a week. Ironically, work in Bollywood is on in full swing despite the strike.
The two affected films are the Abhay Deol-starrer JL-50 and Anushka Sharma’s Pari. The local union – Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI) – has apparently withdrawn technicians from both the shoots to show ‘solidarity’ with their Mumbai brethren.
