Fardin Iftekhar Dihan and Anushka Noor Amin, the ‘O’ level student of Mastermind English Medium School who was killed after rape, had been in relations for two months, said police on Sunday.
While briefing reporters on the progress in the investigation into the incident, Deputy Commission (Ramna dvision) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sajjadur Rahman said they came to know analysing social media platforms and using technology that they had been in relations for the last two months.
He, however, said investigation is going on in this regard.
Police enlisted the age of the victim as per information given to the hospital, Sajjadur said.
Anushka died from excessive bleeding after rape in the city’s Kalabagan area on Thursday.
Victim’s mother said Dihan called the girl to his house at Dolphin alley of Kalabagan around 11am on Thursday in the name of group study where she was raped.
As she was bleeding profusely, the accused took her to Anwer Khan Medical College Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the DMCH for autopsy.
They also arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, victim’s father filed a murder case with Kalabagan Police Station early Friday.
A court also sent Dihan to jail after he made a confessional statement before it when police produced him before it seeking a 10-day remand.
