Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that practice of national politics by the anti-liberation forces after 50 yrs of independence is not acceptable and they have no rights to do national politics .
He disclosed it while addressing the first death anniversary of late President of North district AL unit ,Chattogram Nurul Alam Chowdhury at LGED Conference Hall in the city as chief discussant recently.
The chief discussant said half century of the independence will be completed next year. It is quite unethical that the ant-liberation forces will continue their politics even after passing of 50 years of independence. He also mentioned that the anti-liberation forces did not want sovereignty, own flag and protested the liberation struggle in 1971 and how they will exist in national politics till now.
He also told that pro-liberation forces will remain in power as well as in opposition bench of the parliament , it is quite essential he added. Information minister said following the assumption of state power by AL in consecutive three periods, some AL leaders became idle and with this advantages of idleness , some intruders and opportunists entered in the party and we should trace these opportunists.
He said we should organise strong AL sans opportunists. The Info minister further mentioned that country’s politics transferred to the hands of commercial personalitties and with this advantages, intruders joined the party . The inclusion of business personalities in the national politics introduced by military ruler Ziaur Rahman first. He also mentioned a slogan of Ziaur Rahman like as” I will make politics difficult for Politicians’ During his regime Ziaur Rahman introduced marketing of politicians like collection of players through tender bid. Through sale purchase theory, BNP was constituted, he added .
He also mentioned that a number of politcians of different opinions tried to join AL but lack of chance in the ruling party, they joined the BNP and these big big BNP leaders are opportunists. To commemorate the death anniversary of Nurul Alam chowdhury, Information minister said Nurul Alam chowdhury was a grassroot level leader and he first opposed the ill politics of Khondakar Mustaque after assassination of Bangabandhu In very early age, Nurul Alam chowdhury elected MP in 1973 and again in 1986 . Nurul Alam was made Ambassador by the Prime Minister in 2009.
Dr Hasan Mahmud said Nurul Alam chwdhurywas a real politician and he took politics as a profession and was always honest and dedicated to party and party chief. He never betrayed with the party , he added. Info minister mentioned some leaders of the party change their opinions when party in crucial position but Nurul Alam never derailed from party politics. He also mentioned that when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in jail custody, a number of party leaders changed their mentality but Nurul Alam did do it .
We have to teach from the political life of Nurul Alam, Dr. Hasan told. Dr. Hasan Mahmud recollected the ill politics of BNP_Jamaat for 11 years and during the this period the country legs behind to long distances He said under the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the country became role model of development across the world and Bangladesh now a mid -income country and in all indexes, Bangladesh exceed Pakistan index of development.
