Chattogram Bureau :
AJM Nasir Uddin, General Secretary of the City Awami League and former city Mayor, said Bangladesh is moving forward at a breakneck pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The defeated forces of 1971 are carrying out various activities to block the wheel of development progress of the country.
He said that when the Pakistanis realized the sure defeat in 1971, they started killing the masterminds of one nation after another in a plan to make this nation incompetent so that the brave Bengalis could no longer stand on their own two feet.
He made the remarks at a discussion organized by Chattogram Metropolitan Awami League at Darul Fazal Market party office yesterday on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day. AJM Nasir Uddin said that on December 14, teachers, doctors, cultural activists, journalists, engineers, poets, writers, philanthropists and their red-listed people were brutally massacred across the country.
I do not know if there is a precedent in the history of the world for the murder of such a barbaric intellectual. That defeated power is still active in the conspiracy of murder with the shame of defeat.
They have identified the masterminds of the nation. Understanding the opportunity of the time, they are implementing their plan with various tactics. The meeting was chaired by City Awami League Acting President Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury and conducted by Organizing Secretary Noman Al Mahmud.
