The Ansar-VDP members have been playing the pioneering role in launching social movement to accelerate rural uplift in the process of building a middle income country.
They were addressing the union level Ansar-VDP rally arranged on Friday at the academic building of Kursha High School premises in Kursha union under Kawnia upazila in Rangpurhere with Kursha union chairman Hossain Mohammad in the chair.
District Ansar-VDP Commandant for Rangpur Mahbub Rahman attended the rally as the chief guest.
Headmaster of Kursha High School Parimal Chandra, Kawnia Upazila Ansar-VDP Officer Maksudar Rahman, Upazila Trainer Rasheda Khanom, Kursha Union VDP Group Leaders Abul Kashem and Momena Begum also addressed the rally.
The union level Ansar-VDP Commanders, its male and female Group Leaders and members from all over Kursha union, local public representatives, professionals and elite were present.
The speakers said Ansar-VDP members have been contributing maximum services in building congenial atmosphere for conducting development activities in rural areas through creating mass public awareness and eliminating social crimes. Members of the country’s biggest volunteer organisation have been helping the rural poor in eradicating poverty by achieving self-reliance for building middle income digital Bangladesh making the Vision 2021 programme successful.
The Ansar-VDP members have also been creating social awareness on the threat of spreading HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and disseminating knowledge about family planning, reproductive health and gender discrimination, they said.
The chief guest highly appreciated role of the Ansar-VDP members in eradicating child marriage, dowry, polygamy, human and drug trafficking, addictions, repressions, corruption and gender discrimination for building a better society.
At the end, he distributed prizes among the male and female Ansar-VDP members of Kursha union for their extra- ordinary and dedicated performances last year in maintaining law and order and contributing to social uplift in the union.
