Bangladesh Ansar & VDP emerged the champions in the Exim Bank 30th National Men’s Handball Competition defeating Bangladesh Police in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Thursday. The handball meet was held marking the berth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
When the match was locked 22-22 goals in the 10th minute of the second half, Bangladesh Police left the field after a decision of the referee. Thus the referee declared Bangladesh Ansar & VDP as the champions in the meet, according to the by-laws.
After the competition, Chairman of the sub-committee of the Youth and Sports Affairs of Bangladesh Awami League Mozaffar Hossain Poltu distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Senior Assistant Vice-President of Exim Bank Limited Sanjib Chatterjee was with him as the special guest.
