A court in Chittagong on Wednesday in an instant order sent 6 accused in a murder case to jail custody , court sources said.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Shahidul Islam sent the accused to jail when the accused surrendered before the court on Wednesday afternoon as directed by the High Court.
The accused are -Preesident of Anowara Upazila Awami League Kazi Mozammel Hoque, former UP chairman of Bairag Union and AL leader Nowab Ali, UP member Musa Talukder, Nurul Islam, Ziauddin and Mozzamel Hoque .
Court sources said in last UP election of Bairag Union under Anowara Upazila of south Chittagong on July 3 last, one Faruk was murdered following the factional clash between the two UP member candidates.
Later, family of the victim Faruk (35) filed a murder case before the concerned police station accusing six persons including AL leaders, sources said.
Mozammel has been involvement in various crimes in the locality using political influence and during last UP election he played anti-govt role defying part order.
