Another 250kg bomb was found buried at the construction site of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s 3rd terminal in the capital on Saturday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Bangladesh Air Force recovered a bomb at around 10:50am at the Dhaka airport.
The bomb disposal unit of Air Force’s Bangabandhu Base soon rushed to the spot and defused it, the ISPR said.
Later, the bomb was taken for dismantling in a safe place with necessary precautions, the ISPR press release added.
Bomb experts believe it was dropped sometime during the country’s Liberation War in 1971, it said.
Earlier on December 9 and 14, workers found a 250kg bomb about three metres deep when they were excavating for construction work of the third terminal.
