The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Wednesday confirmed one more death from coronavirus infection, taking the total toll to five in Bangladesh. “However, no new case of coronavirus infection has been recorded in the country in the last 24 hours. The number of coronavirus cases remain 39 in the country,” said Professor Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Director of IEDCR while addressing a press briefing through video conference at her office in Dhaka.
The deceased was 65 years old and was diagnosed corona positive on March 18, Dr. Sabrina said.
She said that the patient was suffering from hypertension and diabetes and was a family member of a foreign returnee, the director said. The man was transferred to Kuwait-Maitree Hospital on March 21.
