Another spell of gas crisis is likely to be due from Tuesday evening for parts of Dhaka city due to the ongoing construction of metro rail.
For such, gas connection will remain suspended in Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Jigatola, Rampura, Bansree and some parts of Old Dhaka.
Md Kamruzzaman Khan, director (operation) of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, told the reporter adding that gas supply will be off in the mentioned areas from 6:00pm Tuesday until 6:00am Wednesday.
The gas connection will be disrupted due to the relocation of pipelines to facilitate construction work of the metro rail project, he said.
Also due to such, other parts of Dhaka might experience low gas pressure.
Yesterday, Dhaka South city dwellers throughout the same zones experienced gas crisis due to a similar disruption in supply leading to sufferings.
Most of the families were compelled to opt for restaurant food because the households majorly depend on supply gas for cooking purpose.
