More one arrested in connection of assaulting madrasa super pouring stool on his body.
The arrestee was Sohel Khondokar, 26, one of thirteen accused of that case.
Additional superintendent of Police (ASP) in charge of Bakerganj and Babuganj circle Md. Mofizul Islam, holding at press briefing at his office on Sunday noon said, Sohel was arrested from Katakhali area of Patuakhali district on Saturday night.
Till this report four accused including Sohel Khondokar, Minzu Musulli, Bellal Hossain and Farahad Musulli were arrested in this connection.
Among them Minzu and Bellal sent to a five day remand on May 16 for more interrogation. Remand prayer against other two arrestees would also be placed soon if necessary, the ASP told. Police also operating drives to arrest main accused Zahangir Khondokar and Razaul Islam suspected as hiding in Mongla area of Khulna, he added.
Mentionable the incident happened on Friday (May 11) last at Kathalia village of Rangasree union under Bakerganj Upazila of the district and the video of that became viral in internet on Sunday. After primary investigation, police found the facts of incident and arrested three of 13 accused, said Abdul Haque, officer in charge (Investigation), Bakerganj Police Station and investigation officer of the case.
In the case the complainant alleged that on Friday morning (11 May) while he was roaming on morning walk near the madrasa, a group on miscreants attacking him beat and the poured human stool carried in a pot on his body at about 7:00 AM Friday.
In the case the complaint said he founded Kathalia Islamia Darus Sunnat Dakhil Madrasa in 1981 and purchased a piece of land adjacent to the madrasa for establishing an orphanage in 2009.
But some rivals including Zahangir Khondokar opposing that lodged a case on 2014 about this matter.
This year in February, Mojibur Rahman backed by the victim defeated Zahangir Khondakar in madrasa governing body election.
Following that defeat Zahangir, Masum, Sohel and others assaulted and tortured him on Friday morning.
District superintendent of police (SP) Saiful Islam said police will arrest all of the accused related with this incident after investigation and checking video recordings.
