Gold smuggling goes rampant through Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport recently . Within 24 hours two consecutive gold scandal detected in Chittagong Airport , sources said.
Customs officials in Chittagong airport on Tuesday evening recovered gold bars of 220 grams worth about Tk. 10 lakh from a passenger of Fly Dubai flight arrived from Dubai on Tuesday evening. Sources said these gold bars were inside the shoes of passenger Md. Hasan.
Customs sources said following the body scanning , these gold bars were detected in his shoes . Mentionable that on Monday evening, Customs officials recovered about 5 kgs of gold consists of 48 pieces from a passenger came from Dubai.. These gold bars recovered from the luggage of the passenger.
The approximate cost of these gold is about Tk.2.40 cr sources said. Dubai backed passenger Miftabuddin was detained by immigration police allegedly involved with the smuggling of gold, sources added
