A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, who suffered burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack on his vehicle in Hathazari upazila on March 4, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir,32, a resident of Fatikchhari upazila.
Sub-inspector Pangkoj Barua of the CMCH police camp said Sabbir who had received 42 per cent
burn injures in the incident succumbed to his wounds at the hospital burn unit at about 8:30am.
Earlier, Ranjit Nath, 30, a resident of Gumanmardan area in Hathajari, who suffered burn injuries in the same incident, died at CMCH on March 6.
Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Charia in Hathazari upazila around 9.00pm on March 4, leaving its driver Sabbir and passenger Ranjit injured with burns.
