A police constable was injured in an accidental shooting from his colleague’s shotgun at Rupnagar in the capital.
Police said some 15 to 20 police members were on duty in front of Mirpur Milk Vita Factory when a
bullet was fired accidentally from constable Tariqul’s shotgun and hit the left leg of constable Habibur Rahman around 1:30pm on Monday.
Habib was rushed to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital and later was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Admitting the incident, officer-in-charge of Rupnagar Police Station Sayeed Shahid Alam told The New Nation that police had filed a general diary (GD) in this regard. The police department will carry out an investigation into the incident.
