Another BD man found among 9 abducted by ISIS in Libya

Another Bangladesh national has been identified among the nine foreigners abducted from Al Ghani Oil Field south of the city Sirte on Friday, raising the number of Bangladeshis abducted to two, confirmed the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli.
A Foreign Ministry media release on Tuesday said the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli identified the second abducted Bangladeshi national as Mohammad Anwar Hossain, hailing from Noakhali.
He was abducted in the same incident when gunmen invaded the oil field killing eleven guards, beheading a number of them, before local forces fought back to retake control.
Initially, the Foreign Ministry says, Anwar was mistakenly identified as Sudanese national having the similar name. However, Anwar’s identification was confirmed by a Bangladeshi working in a neighbouring oil field.
Libyan Foreign Ministry informed the Bangladesh Mission that they were trying heart and soul to rescue them.
After this attack on Friday last, 21 Bangladeshis were taken to safe places who were employed in another neighbouring oil field.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli is maintaining constant vigil on the matter.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry said Helal Uddin, a Bangladeshi national along with eight other foreigners were taken hostage by members of the Islamic group ISIS from Al-Ghani oil field, south of the city Sirte of Libya on Friday.
