Three persons including a woman were gunned down when miscreants opened fire on them storming their house at Sonalibagh area in the city’s Moghbazar on Thursday night. The victims have been identified as Abul Hossain, his wife Ranu Akhrer Bristri and a tenant Billal Hossain. Another one Ridoy was admitted to Dhaka Medial College and Hospital [DMCH] in a critical condition. Eyewitness said that some members of gangster ‘Kala Babu’ group entered the house of the victims and started spraying bullets on them at Sonalibagh area in Wireless gate at around 8:15pm.Hearing the gunshots the locals rushed to the spot. They rescued the injured persons and sent them to DMCH where the doctor declared all of them dead except Ridoy.Masiur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Ramna Police Station, said the victim Abul Hossain and his wife Ranu bought a flat in the area a few days ago. The members of gangster Kala Babu demanded a huge amount of extortion money from them. They attacked their house and opened fire when the victims refused to pay any extortion money. The Ramna Thana Police rushed to the spot and collected some evidences of the crime scene. But they could not arrest any killers till the time of filing this at 10pm. “The reason behind the incident might be a sequel over construction of boundary wall in the area. The members of Kala Babu Gang fired bullets on them entering the house,” Deputy Police Commissioner of Ramna Zone Iqbal Hossain said.
