The annual sports and prize- giving ceremony of Oxford International School (OIS) were held at Mohammadpur Physical College in the capital on Monday.
Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad ASM Feroze was present at the sports competition as the chief guest.
Former captain of Bangladesh national football team Aminul Haque, ex-captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team Khaled Masud Pilot, the first Bangladeshi Everest winner Musa Ibrahim, Principal of Oxford International School Shahidul Alam Monju and President of Oxford International School Md Shakawat Hossain were present, among others, as special guests.
The annual sports started with the singing of the national anthem. Later, the students and the members of the Scouts demonstrated physical exercises and displays and participated in a rally.
Almost 2000 students in 8 groups—play group to `A’ level- – -from Uttara, Gulshan, Bonoshri and the main branch Dhanmondi participated in different events of the competition.
Teachers and guardians of the students also participated in many disciplines.
The events included chocolate race, frog race, relay race and Jemon Khushi Temon Shajo.
