Annis pledges to resolve basic city problems

The Awami League-backed Dhaka city (north) Mayor candidate Annisul Huq on Saturday released his six-point election manifest with pledge to resolve basic city problems facing the city residents for long.
The manifesto titled “Somoshya chinnito,
ebar somadhan jatra (problems are identified: Now time has come to solve those)” was released in his office in the city.
Annisul Huq, a former President of FBCCI, in his election manifesto vowed to make Dhaka (north) green, clean and healthy. He also expressed his firm determination to free the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) from all kinds of malpractices.
On Friday, he got ‘Table clock’ as election symbol to campaign for the post of the DNCC mayor. The polls will be held on April 28. Annisul Huq has promised to arrange special transportation and public toilets for women, and to expand urban healthcare programmes if he is elected.
He will also adopt proper waste management system and introduce waste recycling scheme.
 “Problems have been identified and now time has come to solve those,” said Annisul Huq while releasing the election manifesto. He also described his strategies to achieve the goal.  
He said that common people would be allowed to inform him directly about the problems engulfing their localities and can seek remedy on a special website using mobile apps.
Promising not to make the Nagar Bhaban a party office, the leading businessman also said, “The Nagar Bhaban will be run with the participation of all people. I want to be a friend of all. Awami League leaders Faruk Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Salman F Rahman and Tarana Halim MP (reserved) were present, among others, at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Zonayed Saki, another mayor candidate, has also released his election manifesto with the promise of ensuring the democratic rights of the citizens.
