BSS :
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Sunday said enacting law based on the philosophy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is necessary to establish social discipline and justice which is one of the most important responsibilities of the state.
“His political philosophy is historically related to Bangladesh’s constitution and the laws enacted during his tenure. After earning independence under the leadership of Bangabandhu, the legal infrastructure, which is needed to manage the state and the government, was created under his supervision and following his direction. This had created the foundation of the state named Bangladesh,” Anisul said.
The law minister said this while addressing a workshop on presenting draft of legislative desk book, organized by Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division. Presided over by division secretary Md Moinul Kabir, the workshop was also addressed by Law and Justice Division secretary Md Golam Sarwar, joint secretary and project director Dr Mohammad Mohiuddin, among others.
“One of the slogans of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government is ‘Development through Law, People’s Empowerment’. The law ministry is working to quickly enact standard and time befitting laws to make that slogan a success,” the law minister said.
The government is trying to address changing social, political and financial backdrops by enacting new laws and reforming the old ones, he added.
Anisul hoped that the officials of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division would be able to prepare drafts of laws, rules, regulations, gazettes and deeds, by following this desk book and they would be able to complete the vetting job efficiently and within minimum time.
