Anisul distributes food, other items in Kasba, Akhaura

Emergency aid is being distributed in Kasba and Akhaura upazillas of Brahmanbaria district among destitute people hit hard by ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Aid worth of Taka1.70 crore is being distributed among 23,857 people of Kasba upazilla under the initiatives taken by local lawmaker Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, upazila relief and disaster management committee and Awami League leaders and activists, a law ministry release said on Monday.
Each person is getting a sack containing rice, lentil, oil, potato, onion and soap and Law Minister Anisul Huq is monitoring the distribution activities. He is also sending aid on emergency basis through party activists or upazilla nirbahi officers (UNOs) to the people, whoever is calling him over phone for it.
Kasba upazila parishad chairman Advocate Rashedul Kawser Bhuiya Jibon along with all the chairmen of 10 unions of the upazilla is managing this aid distribution as per the direction of the law minister. Apart from these, Kasba upazilla parishad is also going to distribute rice among 400 families, 75 thousand Taka cash among 250 people and baby food of Taka 15 thousand among poor mothers.
In Akhaura, another upazilla under Anisul Huq’s constituency, food aid is being distributed among 800 families in second stage with the funding of the law minister.
The food aid is being distributed through the leaders and activists of local Awami League and its associate bodies from Sunday. Each family is getting 10 kilograms of rice, two kilograms of lentils, one litre cooking oil, two kilograms of potatoes, one kilogram salt and a bar of soap.
