Nazrul Research Centre of Dhaka University (DU) conferred honour on cultural personality Anindita Kazi, granddaughter of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at a function at RC Majumdar Arts auditorium of the university on Sunday.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique chaired the function while DU Treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin, Arts Faculty Dean Prof Akhtaruzzaman and Social Sciences Faculty Dean Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed, spoke, among others. At the outset, Prof Arefin handed over a honourary crest to Anindita Kazi.
Anindita Kazi expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of the university and the centre for conferring honour on her. She said, “It is really a good sign that young artistes are getting interested in learning about Nazrul Islam.”
