Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam on Thursday s aid that the waste of sacrificial animals will be removed by 10 pm on the day of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, to be observed on Sunday.
He was talking to journalists after holding a meeting with a delegation led by Chief Representative of the Bangladesh Office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Yuho Hayakawa at the minister’s office at the secretariat in Dhaka, a press release said.
The minister said the slaughtering of the sacrificial animals would start in the morning of the Eid day and since then, the work of removing animal-waste will start, reports BSS.
He directed all authorities concerned to remove animal waste from all places within 7pm-10 pm.
Necessary instructions have also been given to all concerned including divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and public representatives, he added.
No cattle market will be arranged beside roads this year, Tajul said.
He urged all to maintain proper health guidelines given by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) while visiting the cattle markets and observing the holy Eid.
