Ananta emerges unbeaten champion in School Chess

Ananta Chowdhury of Nalonda School emerged unbeaten champion in boy’s section, class 6 to 10 group, of Sheikh Russel Inter School Chess tournament held on Friday in the city.
Ananta earned 6.5 points out 7 games to clinch the title. M Wasif Lashkar of St Gregor’y High School became runner-up with 6 points and Miraj Uddin Ahmed of Hazrat Shah Ali Model School finished 3rd with 5 points in the same group.
Meanwhile, Swarnavo Chowdhury of Wills Little Flower emerged unbeaten champion with 6.5 points out of 7 games in boy’s class KG to 5 group. Rameen Ahmed of DPS STS School became runner-up with 6 points and Monon Reza Nir of Nahar Chess Academy finished 3rd with 5 points.
Jannatul Ferdous of Motijheel School emerged unbeaten champion in the class 6 to 10 group of girl’s section with 4.5 points out 5 games and Jhorna Begum of Nahar Chess Academy became runner-up with 4 points while Noshin Anjum of Viqarunnisa School finished 3rd with 3.5 points.
Walijah Ahmed of Ispahani Girls School emerged champion with 3.5 points in class KG to 5 group of Girl’s section. In the same group Israt Jahan Diba of Ideal School became runner-up as Zerin Akter of Nahar Chess Academy finished 3rd with 3 points.
Boy’s section games were held seven round Swiss-League and Girls section games were held five round Swiss-Leagues system. The event was held in two days and more than hundred school students of Dhaka city participated.
