Bagerhat Correspondent :
Md. Shah Alam Gazi (60), an old farmer of village Dakkhin Rajapur under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end on Saturday morning when he was electrocuted in his vegetables field.
It is learnt from the locals and the police that in the morning at about 8 am he was spraying water on his vegetables farm with a water pump run by electricity.
But at one stage when he tried to re-start the power pump he was caught by a live electricity wire without his knowledge and groaned out.
On hearing the groaning the family members rushed to the spot, recovered him from there and rushed him to Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex where the physicians on duty declared him dead. Md.Sayeedur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Sharankhola PS admitted the fact.
It may be mentioned here that on Monday last an expatriate of Saudi Arabia named Rasel Zomaddar (30) and son of one Ruhul Amin Zomaddar of village Dakkhin Khada under the same Upazila was electrocuted almost in the same way. On the day while he was installing a water power pump run by electricity in his pond. Only one month ago he returned home from Saudi Arabia.
