Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu Sunday urged the oil refiners to fortify edible oil with Vitamin A.
“Refiners and traders will not be allowed to sell, supply or export edible oil without Vitamin A fortification with a specified dosage,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on creating awareness to use Vitamin A fortified oil at national level.
Earlier, he joined a rally organised by the project ‘Fortification of Edible Oil in Bangladesh’ under the ministry.
“Legal steps would be taken under ‘Edible Oil Fortification with Vitamin ‘A’ Act-2013′ if anyone found supplying edible oils without fortification of Vitamin A,” said the minister.
