Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu leaves Dhaka for Australia today to attend the 7th Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific on industrial waste management.
The three-day forum is scheduled to kick off on November 2 at Adelaide Convention Centre in Australia, said an official handout.
United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) invited Amu to attend the forum to be jointly organised by Australian and Japanese governments.
The forum is expected to take an important decision on 3R concept — reducing wastage of industrial garbage and raw materials, reusing of these and taking up strategy for recycling for sustainable utilization of natural resources in productive sectors.
The Industries Minister is scheduled to return home on November 6.
