Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu left here on Wednesday for Agartala, the capital of India’s northeast state of Tripura, to attend the 3rd Northeast Connectivity Summit there.The two-day summit is scheduled to kick off tomorrow, said an official handout.
Tripura’s Minister for Education, Industries, Commerce, Law and ICT Tapan Chakrabarti earlier invited Amu to attend the summit, hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI). Industrial entrepreneurs and business persons from the Southeast Asia are expected to join the summit.
The summit is expected to give a further impetus to bilateral economic and strategic partnerships between Bangladesh and India. It is also hoped that Amu would discuss issues and assess potentials for bilateral cooperation that would usher in a new era in the field of economy as well the exchange of industrial technology and expertise.
The Industries Minister is scheduled to return home on September 24, the handout added.
