Amu leaves for Abu Dhabi to join GMIS

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu left here for Abu Dhabi last night to join the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS) there.
The four-day summit kicked at the Paris-Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, an official release said.
The role of industrialization in the present global context and the continued progress in the industrial production for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) undertaken by the United Nations (UN) will be discussed in the summit, the release added.
The head of the states, finance and industries ministers of different countries, noted businessmen, chief executives of different international financial and commercial institutions, economists, industry researchers and policymakers are participating in the summit, it said.
The participants will discuss six fundamental elements of the productivity and take part in an international debate on the related issues.
The industries minister is scheduled to address a panel discussion on ‘Focus on the Textile and Garments’ as part of the summit, the release said.
The release also said Bangladesh’s participation in this summit would help increase the country’s productivity in industrial sectors and formulate strategies in this regard.
Amu is scheduled to return home on March 31.
