Industries’ Minister Amir Hossain Amu Saturday said that the government’s policy of subsidizing agriculture inputs would continue.
He also appreciated the role of urea fertilizer dealers who had kept the wheels of production moving and that it had brought so much success that today the country was on the list of rice exporting nations.
The minister was speaking at the 22nd annual general meeting of Bangladesh Fertilizer Association (BFA) at the city’s Bashundhra Convention Center.
Responding to a request by BCIC dealers for the right to distribute all fertilizers through them he assured them of discussing the matter with relevant ministries.
Earlier, the BCIC dealers had demanded that all fertilizer including non-urea ones be distributed through them. They said they had been distributing urea fertilizer without any hassle from 1994.
