Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu suggested expediting halal industry as it is becoming a potential sector for earning huge foreign currency.
“Halal industry is a flourishing industry across the world. As a Muslim majority country, Bangladesh can increase export in the global market through developing halal foods and tourism industries,” he said while inaugurating the “Bangladesh Halal Expo-2017” in the city on Sunday, said a press release.
Bangladesh Islamic Foundation organised the three-day exposition on Baitul Mukarram National Mosque premises.
