The mango orchard owners in Rajshahi region were hit hard by the cyclone Amphan as huge number of raw mangoes fell off trees during the storm on Wednesday.
The destruction of immature mango has triggered a fresh worry among the mango growers over getting fair price of the seasonal fruit amid corona shutdown.
They said they will have to suffer throughout the year if they do not get proper price of mangoes since most of them are dependent on the cash crop for their livelihood.
Local administration and farmers said the extent of mango losses caused by deadly cyclone could be 20-25 percent.
They said Amphan battered many orchards damaging the branches of tress and the immature mangoes.
Amid their worry about marketing mangoes due to corona, the orchard owners said the cyclone has taken a huge toll on the harvest of mango, putting them in a serious trouble.
