Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand and the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Saida Muna Tasneem handed over her letter of introduction to UNESCAP executive secretary Dr Shamshad Akhter.
The Ambassador met Dr Shamsad on Wednesday at the ESCAP secretariat in Bangkok, said a foreign ministry release here Thursday. During the meeting, Ambassador Tasneem reaffirmed the commitment of Bangladesh to work closely with the UNESCAP to enhance technical and capacity building cooperation in the areas of regional connectivity and integration, energy connectivity, sustainable development and trade facilitation.
The executive secretary praised Bangladesh’s continued engagement and contribution to ESCAP’s works for the inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in Asia and the Pacific, the press release added.
