Amar Ekushey Book Fair begins in Khulna

A 21 day-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair has began on Divisional Public Library premises at Boyra in Khulna City on Friday.
Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated
the fair as the chief guest in the evening with DC Md Moniruzzaman Talukder in the chair.
 Chairman of Khulna Zilla Parishad Sheikh Harunur Rashid, Additional Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) S M Fazlur Rahman, Deputy Director of Local Government in Khulna Iqbal Hossain, Cluster Director of Robi Axiata Limited Md Hamidul Haque, freedom fighter Professor Alamgir Kabir and President of Bangladesh Books and Seller Association Md Alamgir Hossain, addressed the inaugural ceremony of Book fair as special guests.
Deputy Director of the Divisional Public Library Mohammad Ahsan Ullah delivered the welcome speech in the inaugural function.
A total of 95 stalls have been set up in the fair displaying various types of books.
 The fair will remain open for all from 3pm to 9.30pm every day except holiday. It will also open from 10am to 9.30pm holiday.
Besides, painting competition, poem recitation for children and cultural programmes will be held every evening on separate themes during the fair.
