Aman rice procurement drive is going on in full-swing in Netrakona district which is known as “grain vowel” of the country.
An official source said, the district food department has decided to procure 8,366 tonnes of Aman rice during the current season from 224- enlisted rice mill in the district at the rate of Taka 32 per kg.
The procurement drive started in the district on December 8 and would be continued till February 28, the source said.
Contacted, the district controller of food Mohammad Rafizuddin told BSS that the Aman rice procurement drive was progressing satisfactorily through 13 warehouses of the district.
So far, 3,900 tonnes of rice have already been procured in the district he said adding that the procurement target is expected to be achieved within February 28.
