Amal Roy and Dipu Lal move into the singles final of the Runners Victory Day Tennis Championship on Thursday at National Tennis Complex.
In the first men’s singles semifinal, Amol Roy of Engineers Recreation Center defeated Ranjan Ram K of the International Club by 6-4, 1-6, and 7-5 sets.
While in the second singles semifinal Dipu Lal of DARS Bangladesh Limited defeated Milon Hossain of the Narsingdi Tennis Club in a straight 6-3,6-2 sets
The women singles semifinals were also held on Thursday as Afroana Islam Prity of Narsingdi Tennis Club beat Zerin Sultana Jolly of BKSP by 6-2, 2-6 and 6-2 sets in the first semifinals while in the second semifinals, Ishita Afroz of BKSP defeated the Fabiha Lamaasaha of National Tennis Complex by 6-2, 6-1 sets on the way to the final.
Elite Tennis Academy’s Jewel Rana beat his club mate Shanto Chowdhury by 7-6, 6-3 sets in the boys’ quarter-finals singles, M Shadin Hossain beat BKSP Mehedi Hasan by 6-3, 6-2 sets in another quarterfinals.
BKSP’s Arnab Saha beat Elite Tennis Academy’s M Rakib Hossain by 6-3, 6-2 sets and BKSP’s M. Istiaq , Biswas in a hard fought match beat Nimul Islam of the BKSP by 6-4, 6-4 sets to move into the semi-finals on this category.
Jirin Sultana of BKSP in girls’ singles in the 14-year group category beat Mashfiya Afrin of Brahmanbaria District Sports Association and RNV Akhter of BKSP defeated Elite Tennis Academy’s Srabani Biswas Jui to move into final.
