Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its front organisations and associate bodies on Wednesday celebrated 72nd founding anniversary of the party maintaining hygiene amidst Covid-19 pandemic.
To mark the day, Kishoreganj district unit of the party paid glowing tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths the portraits of Bangbandhu and four other national leaders in front of the party office.
District unit president of Awami League Adv. Kamrul Ashasan Shajahan flanked by other front-ranking leaders and activists placed wreaths following health safety guidelines set by the government.
Speaking on the occasion District General Secretary Adv. M.A Afzol said Awami League is not only the oldest and largest political party in the country but also an incarnation of the mainstream democracy and secular ideologies.
It was addressed, among others, by Zila Parishad Chairman and District Senior Vice President Advocate Zillur Rahman, Advocate Bijoy Shonkor Roy, Principal Sharif Said, PP Advocate Shah Azizul Haque, Syed Ashfaqul Islam Tito, Mayor Pervez Miah,Ex.Mayor Nurul Islam, Sadar unit President Advocate Athaur Rahman, Aminul Islam Bakul , Mohila Awami league General Secretary Bilkis Begum,Salma Haque and Chatra league President Sumon Mollah.
