Alone at home

block
When I am alone at home, none within my eyes,
My mind goes straight to the peak of Everest to
Touch a frosty cloud,
Had I wings like a golden eagle or snowy egret,
I could go now there
Where lives my dream into the sea’s wild foam,
My mind always tends me to sail like Napoleon
To cross the Atlantic
Or like Julius Caesar conquer Rome overnight,
The predawn breeze
Tends me to play Beethoven’s sixth symphony
Followed by a warm kiss of my lovely fiancée
By her lustrous lips,
Streams flowing from the hilltops down to the
Plains jingle a tune
Of unheard melodies into my mind very often
To rise up to the top of what my fiancée wants,
But my mind wants
To ride on a winged horse of Greek mythology
To fly straight to the peak of Everest, the home
That draws me near.
