Staff Reporter :Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum a pro-BNP lawyers’ front on Monday staged a demonstration on the Supreme Court premises, demanding uninterrupted food supply to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office.The forum leaders also demanded a free, fair and credible election under a caretaker government to establish people’s franchise. They also demanded an immediate dialogue between the government and the oppositions to end the ongoing political impasse and establish peace in the country. “The government is hatching conspiracy to perpetuate its power. It has stopped allowing food supply to the BNP chairpersons’ office as she is fighting to establish people’s democratic right,” said Advocate Golam Mohammad Chowdhury, vice president of the Supreme Court Unit of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum while presiding over the programme. Demanding the restoration of caretaker system, Chowdhury said the next election must be held under a caretaker government to ensure people’s democratic right.The current political standoff could be solved through a dialogue, he said.Among others, Advocate Giasuddin Ahmed, Advocate Syed Mahbub Hossain, Advocate Syed Abdur Rahman and Barrister Anwar Hossain spoke on the occasion.
