A man was killed in a mob beating in capital’s Kamrangirchar area on Monday morning.
The victim has been identified as Shwapon Miah, 35, inhabitant of Rasulpur in Lalbagh in the city, police said.
Quoting the victim’s family members, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost In-Charge and Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Haque said that local people of the area beat up Shwapon suspecting him as robber. Later, some family members rushed him to the DMCH at 8am when the on duty doctors declared him dead.
Many injury marks were found in the body, the police official said. The body had been handed over to the family members after autopsy, the SI said.
