The investigation of corruption and malpractice against Gafargaon Thana Education has started at Gafargaon under Mymensingh recently.
Md.Abdul Mannan, Education Officer (Audit) of Primary Education Directorate visited Gafargaon following the direction of higher authority on Saturday last.
During investigation, Education Officer Anuwarul Islam and his associates threatened the complainer teachers, misbehaved with journalists and called the headmasters of primary schools more than 100 schools in his office keeping them absent in schools .
He compelled them to put on signature in white paper. As a result, the situation goes beyond control. Teachers of this upazila submitted a written allegation to the DG of Primary Education Directorate against Education Officer Md Anuwarul Islam about his various irregularities and corruption.
It is alleged that Md. Anuwarul Islam joined this upazila about two years ago. After joining, he involved himself into corruption such as transfer, taking bribe and commission and withdrew money without repairing of schools.
The complaint headmaster Md. Helal uddin of Dhupaghat Govt. primary school, headmaster Jahangir Alam,of Vorvora Govt.primary School informed , at the time of giving witnessed, his people gave threat to us and scolded us before the investigation officer.
Upazila Education officer Md. Anuwarul Islam said, the allegation against him is not true..
