Allegation against Grameen Board of Directors, ACC probe begins

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started investigation against Board of Directors of the Grameen Telecom for their involvement in alleged corruptions.
Md Mahbub Hossain, Secretary of the ACC, confirmed the development to the media on Thursday.
The anti-graft watchdog was prompted by a report against Grameen Telecom submitted by the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The allegations mentioned in the report are:
1. Grameen Telecom Board misappropriated 5 percent profit of workers
2. Deducted 6 percent from the money paid to the workers in termination benefits
3. Misappropriates workers’ welfare fund money and its interest to the tune of Tk 45,52,13,643 and
4. Transferred Tk 977 crore from Grameen Telecom to associate organizations and misappropriated.
