Pace Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Allan Donald is highly impressed with the performance of Bangladesh pacers. He is also pleased with the aggressive bowling display of the pacers.
Members of Bangladesh Cricket team took part in their practice session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram marking the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Donald worked with the pacers Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed and Rejaur Rahman Raja at Chattogram.
Donald said, ” I am very happy with the performance of Shoriful. I am highly satisfied with his performance in One Day International (ODI) cricket. I watched his bowling display in the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. His bowling style and speed was eye-catching. When Bangladesh clinched the Youth World Cup, I watched him as a superb bowlers.”
He said, ” There is gimmick in the bowling display of Ebadot and Khaled. I became astonished after watching their ability. Fast bowling means courage and keenness. I never saw two pacers and two spinners playing in a Test match. They fulfilled their duty in the recently concluded Durban Test. They showed their capability to bowl out South Africa in the outgoing two Test matches. I am very happy to watch their performance. “
After taking the assignment of Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team, Allan Donald worked with the almost all seamers. But he did not get chance to work with Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed. Taskin Ahmed was ruled out after getting injury in his shoulder. On the other hand, Mustfizur Rahman is now staying in India as he is now taking part in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Donald is a great fan of ‘ Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman.
Donald said, ” I am a great fan of Mustafizur Rahman. He is a great bowler for white ball. Ebadot, Shoriful and Khaled know how to bowl in flat pitch. It is a long-term process to learn how to bowl in Test cricket.”
The Team Management Committee of BCB including BCB boss want that Mustafiz will play in Test cricket. But Mustafiz didn’t want that. He is not interested to play in longer version cricket.
Allan Donald said, ” It is a tough task to comment about Mustafiz’s participation in Test cricket. I shall talk to Mustafiz. But if Mustafiz wants to play only shorter version cricket, it is his personal matter.”
The Pace Bowling Coach said, ” When I watch the performance of Andrew Russell in IPL, I think he is the best cricketer of the whole world. He did bowling 150km per hour and hit sixers above 110 metres. But his body is not fit for playing Test cricket. So, he has chosen to play in limited-over cricket. It is a personal matter for a cricketer in what kind of cricket he will play.”
