All urged to maintain communal harmony

President Abdul Hamid described Bangladesh as a country of communal harmony and urged all to play their due roles expediting the national development and progress from their respective positions maintaining communal harmony.
In a message, marking the ‘Kathin Chibar Dan’, a month-long great festival of Buddhist community that began on Friday, President Abdul Hamid said thousand-years-old Buddhist heritage is closely linked with the soil and people of Bangladesh and the ancient Buddhist temples at different places are bearing the bright examples.
He said ‘Kathin Chibar Dan’ is one of the great festivals of the Buddhist community and the festival makes unity, solidarity and harmony among the Buddhist people through their participation in it.
President Abdul Hamid recalled the contribution of Gautama Buddha and said he propagated the message of equality, friendship, humanity and peace to build a harmonious and peaceful world.
