Barishal City Corporation (BCC) has started construction work for setting digital device to countdown of ‘Mujib Year’ in the city.
 On this occasion the installed digital device on the pond of Barishal Zilla Parishad (District Council) would be started countdown work after inauguration of the installed device.
Israil Hossain, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BCC, said BCC will install a high altitude digital device to start countdown moment of Mujib Year’ from January 10, 2020.
We hope that Prime Minister will inaugurate this digital device simultaneously with other cities and towns in the country today , the BCC CEO added.
Netrakona Correspondnet reports: All preparations are afoot to celebrate the launching ceremony of the countdown event of the Mujib Year marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today in the district.
Netrakona district administration has chalked out elaborate programmes to make the event of the countdown of Mujib year that coincides the historical Bangabandhu’s Home Coming Day , Deputy Commissioner (DC) Netrakona Main -UL-Islam told journalists yesterday.
As part of the programme, launching ceremony of the countdown of the Mujib year will be held at countdown place near Muktarpara bridge.
Bringing out of a colorful rally, placing wreaths at the portraits of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at local Muktarpara ground, discussion meetings and cultural function are other highlights of the programme, district administration sources said .
To mark the day, special prayers seeking divine blessings for peace and salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members will be offered at mosques, temples, churches and other places of worships across the district . “State minister for fisheries and livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru will inaugurate the district’s countdown event of the Mujib Year at the countdown place near Muktarapra bridge here on January 10,” DC added.
BSS from Rangpur says: The district administration at a preparatory meeting has finalised elaborate programmes to make the launching ceremony of the countdown of the Mujib Year today.
The district administration organised the meeting at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner .
Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam attended the meeting as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan in the chair.
Acting Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Abu Sufian, District Education Officer Roksana Begum, Organising Secretary of district Awami League Touhidur Rahman Tutul, its Joint General Secretary Rosy Rahman, General Secretary of district Mohila Awami League Advocate Zakia Sultana Choite, among others, addressed.
Heads of different government departments and organisations and educational institutions, freedom fighters, leaders of political parties, socio-cultural and trade organisations, civil society members, professionals and local elite were present.
After discussions, the meeting finalised programs like bringing out of colourful rally, placing of wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu on the Bangabandhu Square, discussions and cultural functions to mark the countdown of the Mujib Year in the district.
Besides, the Deputy Commissioner adopted other innovate programs as suggested by participants in the meeting to make the countdown ceremony on the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu memorable among common people.
He suggested the authorities concerned to take adequate steps so that the people from all walks in life at the union, upazila and district levels could easily enjoy the colourful countdown ceremony across the district in a hassle-free manner.
The speakers termed the countdown of the Mujib Year from January 10 across the country as a historical event for the nation marking the Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The centenary birthday celebrations of Bangabandhu in the Mujib Year will start from his birthday on March 17 and will continue till March 26, 2021 marking the Golden Jubilee of Independence when the country is advancing fast on the highway of development.
BSS from Rajshahi reports: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and divisional and district administrations have chalked out an elaborate programmes to launch the countdown ceremony of ‘Mujib Barsho-2020’ to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman .
RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton held two separate meetings with the local civil and police administrations and the city corporation officials at the city bhaban conference hall devising ways and means on how to make the launching function a total success.
Mayor Liton told BSS that two countdown machines, one on the city bhaban premises and another at the premises of Shaheb Bazar Boro Masjid, have already been installed for live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s inaugural speech.
He also said the city corporation has also arranged a colourful cultural programme and large number of people are expected to attend programmes.
Liton said January 10, 1972 is very significant day for the nation for beginning the countdown of the Mujib Year as it marks the historical “Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day”.
On this day, Bangabandhu returned to an independent and sovereign Bangladesh after spending nine and a half months of captivity in a Pakistan jail.
“Bangabandhu’s birth centenary celebration will start on his birthday, March 17 and will continue till March 26, 2021, which also marks the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence Day as well,” the mayor said.
Rajshahi University authority has also installed a countdown machine at its administrative building premises for live broadcast of the premier’s speech.
BSS from Gaibandha adds; All-out preparations have been completed here to launch the countdown ceremony of ‘Mujib Year’ marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today.
On this occasion, the high altitude digital devices had already been installed at important and visible places of the district and upazila towns at the arrangement of the district and upazila administrations.
The digital devices would start countdown work of ‘Mujib Year’ after its inauguration. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasian would formally inaugurate the digital devices simultaneously in Dhaka with other cities and towns across the country on January 10, office sources said.
Earlier, a preparatory meeting to celebrate the launching ceremony of the countdown of ‘Mujib Year’ was held at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) office of the town here on Monday.
DC Abdul Matin presided over the meeting while additional DC-General Alamgir Kabir Saikat moderated the function. After elaborate discussion, a series of programmes have been chalked out marking the launching ceremony of the countdown work.
The programmes include press conference, placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, rally, screening Bangabandhu’s
historical 7th March speech and cultural function on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar of the town here on January 10.
DC Abdul Matin said January 10, 1972 is very significant for beginning the countdown as it marks the historical Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day across the country.
