All set to celebrate Pahela Baishakh

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Divisional and District administrations have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate ‘Pahela Baishakh’, the first day of the Bengali New Year-1423, tomorrow in a befitting manner in the city.
The authorities concerned have taken tight security measures for ensuring peaceful Baishakhi celebrations with traditional culture, pride, and rich heritages of the Bangalees in line with the spirit of War of Liberation.
The district and upazila administrations and different and socio-cultural organisations have also adopted elaborate programmes to celebrate the day.
RCC has chalked out a two-day programme to welcome the Bengali New Year 1423 at Fudkipara open stage and the city corporation authority is scheduled to begin its programmes at 7 am on April 14. District administration chalked out a daylong ‘Barshabaran’ programme which includes colourful procession, cultural function at Collectorate School playground.
Baishakhi processions will parade different city streets with people carrying colourful festoons, placards and banners, wearing masks and singing Boishakhi songs.
Businessmen in hats, bazars, groceries, sales centers and important places in both rural and urban areas are taking preparation to organize traditional Halkhata and to distribute sweets among their customers.

The district towns as well as divisional city of Rangpur have worn festive looks on the occasion. The authorities concerned have taken tight security measures to celebrate the traditional ‘Pahela Baishakh’ festivities in a peaceful atmosphere. The district and upazila administrations, authorities of different pourashavas, Rangpur City Corporation and other concerned organisations have completed all necessary preparations to welcome ‘Pahela Baishakh.’
