UP elections: All set for UP polls in Gouripur

 The second phase polls to 710 union councils will be held on March 31 in the country
Following the schedule, the administration as well as election office has taken all out preparations to hold the election of 10 union parishads in Gouripur upazila of Mynensingh district, scheduled to be held on March 31. Under the preparations, a total of 97 presiding officers, 405 assistant presiding officers and 810 polling officers have been appointed by the retuning officer concerned. Besides five returning officers are conducting ten unions.
 Apart from this, all the presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers have been imparted training at Gouripur R.K Govt. High School recently. There are 206,040 voters enrolled in 10 unions. Union parishad chairman candidates are 53 among others 23 are contesting with political party nomination for the first time. 376 UP member candidates to the general seats and 105 woman member candidates for the reserve seats for women are contesting the election. There are 97 polling centres and 49 polling centres are identified as risky centres.
Gouripur upazila Nirbahi officer Margina Akter, along with upazila election officer A.K.M. Musa (returning officer of Bokainagar and Ramgopalpur union) upazila agriculture officer Md. Sadekur Rahman (returning officer of Sidhla and Maylakanda union) upazila cooperative officer Sahadat Hossain (returning officer of Mahoa and Sahanati union) upazila livestock officer Dr. Md Abu Sayeed Sarker (returning officer of Achintapur and No-2 Gouripur union) upazila food officer Tarapad Chakrabarti (returning officer of Dohakhala and Bhangnamari union) and the police department is working hard to hold an inclusive fair election acceptable to all.
